Identity as a Façade

This project explores hypermasculinity, hyperfemininity and gender binaries through a series of self portraits. By transforming myself into exaggerated versions of expected masculine and female roles, I am using comical delivery to exhibit the irony of a nonbinary person assuming those roles. Each character, setting and costume I styled myself. By purposely fitting myself into the cisgender perspective of the gender binary, I challenge the way my cis audience expects a nonbinary person to present.
